For more than 25 years, our team — first as the agency David&Goliath, now as HeroShop® — has been building web experiences, brand identities, and commerce platforms for manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. Over more than 12,000 projects and 300+ clients, we kept running into the same three walls, no matter the industry or the size of the business.
The pattern we couldn't ignore
Manual processes. Product creation, collection updates, media management, merchandising — all done by hand, one entry at a time. The more a business grew its brands, products, and markets, the more this manual work became a bottleneck instead of a detail.
Disconnected systems. ERPs, PIMs, CRMs, WMSs, B2B portals, B2C storefronts, marketplaces — all running in parallel, rarely talking to each other. The result: duplicated order entries, manual inventory reconciliation, and a constant stream of calls and emails just to keep information in sync.
The limitations of existing platforms. Every off-the-shelf commerce platform we implemented came with the same trade-off: adopt the platform's rigid structure, lean on third-party apps and outside teams to patch the gaps, and accept high implementation and operating costs — or walk away from features the business actually needed. None of them were built to handle the real complexity of B2B and B2C together, at scale, across multiple sites, brands, languages, and currencies.
We were solving these problems project by project, client by client, with custom work. It became clear that what businesses in the supply chain needed wasn't another point solution — it was a platform built from the ground up around automation, connectivity, and flexibility.
Building the platform we wished existed
That's why we created HeroShop®: a Data Hub & E-Commerce Platform that centralizes product, order, inventory, and customer data in one place, connects natively to the systems businesses already run — ERP, PIM, CRM, WMS, TMS, POS — and delivers integrated B2B and B2C experiences from a single backend.
We built it around a simple principle: the platform should adapt to the business, not the other way around. That meant a modular, object-oriented, 100% native codebase — no plugins, no proprietary lock-in — so every client gets a configuration built for their reality instead of a one-size-fits-all template. It also meant keeping a dedicated in-house team involved at every stage, from digital strategy through implementation and ongoing support, rather than handing clients off to a call center or a marketplace of freelance developers.
What it looks like in practice
Businesses that adopt HeroShop® are usually dealing with high order volumes, large catalogs, multiple markets and verticals, multi-site operations, and processes still run manually. For them, the shift is tangible:
MediSecur. Sylvia and Valérie Gilbert, co-owners, use HeroShop® to run order flows that adapt exactly to each of their customer categories — something they describe as difficult for competitors to imitate.
White Cross. Mark Lutfy, VP of Sales, built B2B and B2C sites with the same feature set as a leading enterprise platform, and saw independent retailers adopt the B2B portal to place their orders directly — saving the customer service team thousands of hours.
Chaussures Pierre-Roy. Stéphanie Fraser, President, fully automated merchandising, inventory updates, and new-collection additions, freeing her team to focus on customers instead of site maintenance.
HeroShop® exists because we believe businesses should have full control over their product and customer data and the experiences they deliver — without being boxed in by proprietary platforms or held back by disconnected systems. That's still the mission today: an adaptable, connected commerce platform, backed by a team that knows the manufacturing and distribution world from the inside, helping businesses turn operational complexity into growth.
